2011 TAP Summer Institute (SC TSI), formerly called TAP University, will be held July 19-21 in Beaufort, South Carolina at Beaufort High School, 85 Sea Island Parkway, Beaufort SC 29907

Plan to arrive early on Monday evening, July 18 or early Tuesday, July 19. Registration will be open from 7:30-9:00 AM on Tuesday, July 19. Opening session will begin promptly at 9:00 AM. Current SC TAP schools will conclude at 3:30 PM on Thursday, July 21. New SC TAP schools will finish CORE training Friday, July 22. Please make your travel plans to ensure that you are in attendance at all sessions.

Online registration is open from now until Friday, May 13, 2011 and is two-fold:

  • All hotel reservations must be made by Friday, May 13, 2011.
  • You must mention or enter “TAP” group code to receive the rate of $99/night which includes a hot breakfast
  • Reservations must be guaranteed with a deposit of one night’s room and tax
  • SC TAP recommends and will pay for double occupancy
  • Payment must be made by individual schools and districts (TIF money has already been issued)
  • Cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance to avoid being charged for one night’s room and tax

Previously Trained TAP Schools (Year 2 and beyond)

During registration, you will choose your school name and you will be pre-placed in a one-day workshop with your Leadership Team on Tuesday, July 19 to develop your school plan for the 2011-12 school year. Your TAP title as either an administrator, master or mentor teacher as well as your school grade levels will pre-place you for Wednesday July 20 in either the one-day administrative academy targeting needs of administrators or the one-day field testing and cluster session for master and mentor teachers. On Thursday, July 21, there are a variety of sessions for you to choose. Please include a Test Tape session on Thursday, as all certified evaluators need to be recertified every year. Please review the session descriptions below before beginning registration.


NEW TAP Schools (Year 1)

If your school is on the drop down list and plans to start training this summer your schedule will be determined for you. If your school is brand new to SC TAP and is not on the list choose 'New/Other' and your schedule will also be determined for you
