Market-Driven, Performance-based Compensation

Based upon what we have learned from the research, SCTAP teachers are paid based on their performance in three essential areas:
- The skills, knowledge and responsibilities a teacher exhibits through his or her daily practice;
- The gains the teacher produces in student achievement on standardized tests, standards-based tests, and performance assessments; and
- The gains a school produces on standardized tests and standards-based assessments.
