2009 TAP™ University
This year’s TAP™ University will take place from June 15 – 17 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in the Vista. We are excited to offer another great variety of training options to our participants with topics such as Kagan training and cluster implementation. Several sessions are introductory while others are designed for schools implementing TAP™ for several years. We look forward to seeing everyone this summer for our most comprehensive and active training yet.
ADEPT Connections for Mentors (ACM)
The ACM Matrix is helping put the “A” back into ADEPT! Designed for use by mentors, administrators, IHE supervisors, and coaching teachers, the ACM Matrix is a terrific tool to help guide conversations and collaborations with beginning teachers and teacher candidates. Focused on each of the thirty-four key elements of the ADEPT Performance Standards for Classroom-Based Teachers, the ACM Matrix connects performance expectations with practical suggestions for mentoring opportunities and activities.
Beginning July 1, 2009 the required initial application fee for a South Carolina teaching license will increase from the current $75.00 to $95.00. The non-refundable fee can be paid online by credit card or by mail by sending a check or money order payable to "South Carolina Department of Education". The address is located on this page.

If you have an Initial Certificate that expires June 30, 2008 or June 30, 2009, have met ADEPT, and completed the PLT with passing scores, your certificate will automatically be issued by July 14th. It is not necessary for you to contact our office as long as you have met these requirements.
