A Statement of Eligibility enables you to seek employment as a teacher of record in a South Carolina school district. There are many avenues to begin your job search.
The Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement (CERRA) offers an online employment application. This application is accepted by most school districts in South Carolina. CERRA also maintains an online Teacher Job Bank that lists many teacher vacancies in districts across South Carolina. On this website you can search for teaching positions by subject area or by district.
Every June CERRA sponsors a teacher expo. This is an excellent opportunity to meet with school districts in need of teachers across the state. Registration for the Expo is free for all teacher applicants.
Most districts post their teacher vacancies on their district website.Their websites should indicate if they require paperwork other than the online application at CERRA. Many districts also offer an annual career fair. You can locate information regarding career fairs on district websites. Additionally, some districts have posted this same information on the CERRA website.
Teachers-Teachers.com is another source you can utilize to find teaching positions. This free on-line service allows you to post your resume and check for teacher vacancies.
