PACE Cohort 5
| PACE Cohort 5 is divided into two sections: 5A and 5B. Cohort
5A participants are those who will begin the training program in July 2007. Cohort
5B participants are those hired after July 13, 2007 and will begin
the training program in December 2007.
All PACE Cohort 5 participants are required to complete all stages of the training program. This includes a pre-service training program, first-year Saturday seminars, an in-service training program after the first year of teaching, and second-year seminars. The deadline to pre-register is December 10, 2007. It is the participant's responsibility to complete and submit the pre-registration form as soon as possible. The State Department of Education is trying to accommodate all eligible participants; however, early registration is encouraged to assure your place in the training.
Once participants have successfully completed the pre-service at Lugoff-Elgin High School, they will continue the training in one of the training locations listed below. Training locations are limited to the number of participants they can serve. Site preference will be given on a first come first served basis. Participant's first or second regional choice may not be available.
Enrollment and Certification Requirements
To participate in the training, a confirmation of employment must be on file by December 10, 2007 and a copy of passing scores on the required Praxis subject area examination(s) must be on file in the Office of Educator Certification by December 14, 2007. Participants must also have a complete application packet on file at the Office of Educator Certification by December 10, 2007.
If a participant who plans to attend the winter pre-service training program is taking the Praxis examination on November 17, 2007, they MUST call for scores by December 14, 2007. The call must be made in the presence of the employing district personnel administrator so passing scores can be confirmed. The participant is responsible for the cost associated with this call. Participants can check the status of their application using our certification database inquiry.
