Pre-registration

Eligible participants will be sent the pre-registration information. Individuals eligible for participation in PACE who have been hired for the 2006–07 academic year that did not successfully complete the summer 2006 pre-service intstitue are required to attend the pre-service institute this winter. The deadline to pre-register is December 11, 2006. It is the participant's responsibility to complete and submit the pre-registration form as soon as possible. The State Department of Education is trying to accommodate all eligible participants; however, early registration is encouraged to assure your place in the training.

Once participants have successfully completed the pre-service at Ridge View High School, they will continue the training in one of the training locations listed below. Training locations are limited to the number of participants they can serve. Site preference will be given on a first come first served basis. Participant's first or second regional choice may not be available. Individuals will be notified of their assigned region at registration.

Enrollment and Certification Requirements

To participate in the training, a confirmation of employment must be on file by December 11, 2006 and a copy of passing scores on the required Praxis subject area examination(s) must be on file in the Office of Educator Certification by December 15, 2006. Participants must also have a complete application packet on file at the Office of Educator Certification by December 11, 2006.

If a participant who plans to attend the winter pre-service training program is taking the Praxis examination on November 18, 2006, they MUST call for scores by December 15, 2006. The call must be made in the presence of the employing district personnel administrator so passing scores can be confirmed. The participant is responsible for the cost associated with this call. Although participants will be allowed to attend the training with telephone confirmation of passing scores, an official score report from Educational Testing Services must be on file at the Office of Educator Certification before the certificate can be issued.

Participants can check the status of their application using our certification database inquiry.

On Site Registration

During registration, participants will be issued their notebook, texts, and given a homework assignment due the following morning. Participants must submit a money order for $90 to cover the cost for books and supplies during your first year of training. While there is no cost for the training program, participants are responsible for travel, meals, housing (if necessary), and the supplies previously mentioned.
