Mentor Assignment Requirements for 2008-09 (2 page pdf)
The South Carolina Induction and Mentoring Program Guidelines (28 page pdf), provide guidance in planning, leadership, training and ongoing support of induction teachers and mentors. This state initiative, one of several important revisions of the ADEPT system, is designed to elevate the teaching profession through support of beginning teachers as it encourages leadership roles for experienced teachers.
The Induction and Mentoring Guidelines will be implemented as a component of each district’s ADEPT plan, scheduled for submission on May 1, 2008 and must be approved by the State Board of Education prior to implementation.
