Mentor Training Overview
State mentor training is based on nationally recognized, research-based mentoring models aligned with the state’s standards for teaching performance. Administered by the Division of Educator Quality & Leadership (DEQL) in collaboration with the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement (CERRA), the mentor program consists of three components which are to be implemented in all South Carolina school districts as funding becomes available. The credits earned from completion of this training may be applied toward the renewal of the educator’s professional certificate.
