Explanations
- Requests made after September 1, 2003, require that any course work used
for the MA+30 must be completed within seven (7) years from the time the course
work was started. Individuals who do not complete the requirements during
the seven years may request that the college/university revalidate the coursework
before (if permitted by the college) it is submitted for credential advancement.
- Official initial requests for the MA+30 made prior to September 1, 2003, will be allowed to complete the course work for the MA+30 under the previous regulations without penalty. (The seven year timeframe will not apply.)
- To determine the courses applicable to the Class I-S Certificate, it may
be necessary for the institution awarding the Master's Degree to provide the
Office of Teacher Certification an official copy of the master's degree program
of studies.
- **Although completion of these worksheet requirements will qualify
an individual for the MA+30 graduate hours credential, it will not result
necessarily in eligibility for additional certification. Information regarding
the specific course requirements for additional certification in an instructional
or support area may be obtained from the Office of Teacher Certification.
- The applicant must stipulate subject area for this program. The Office of
Teacher Certification will not make this determination.
- Applications and requests for certificate advancement and add-on certification
that are received and dated on or before November 1 will be effective July
1 of the current school year.
- Applicants eligible after November 1 for initial certification, certificate advancement, or add-on certification must request a change to their certificates and provide full documentation within forty-five calendar days after the date the requirements are met.
